 These include changes involving banks, ATMs, railways and airlines.  Many of these things have become cheaper for you and many more expensive. 

 The country is currently under lockdown to prevent corona virus infection.  This will cause train and airline service disruptions, but the rules attached to it have also changed today.  Let us tell you what will change in your life from today and what effect this will have on your pocket.

 You will get lower interest rate on SBI Savings Account

 From today, you will get a lower interest rate on SBI's savings account.  The bank will offer 3.05 per cent annual interest on FDs up to Rs 1 lakh, while investments above Rs 1 lakh will earn 3.25 per cent interest.  This is 2.75 per cent less than the repo rate.  Earlier, the RBI cut the repo rate by 0.25 per cent from 6.25 per cent to 6 per cent.  SBI is the first bank to offer interest based on external benchmarks.

 Reduction in cooking gas prices

 The country's oil marketing companies have announced cuts in the prices of unsubsidised LPG cooking gas cylinders.  The price of a 14.2 kg non-subsidized LPG cylinder has gone down by Rs 162.5 per cylinder in Delhi.  Now the new price has come down to Rs 581.50.  So the price of a 19 kg cylinder has come down by Rs 256 to Rs 1029.50.

 EPFO will provide full pension

 FPFO Mathi will give full pension to those who opted for commutation at the time of retirement.  The commutation gives pensioners the option to convert their monthly pension into an upfront lump sum pension at the time of retirement.  Full pension has been implemented after 15 years.  The government issued a notification in February to resume this.  The government's move will benefit 6.30 lakh pensioners.  This will raise Rs 1,500 crore from the exchequer.

 Which ATM rule has changed?

 A new rule has been implemented for ATMs from today in view of the transmission of Corona virus.  According to this, every time used, the ATM will be cleaned so that the infection can be eliminated. 

 It started in Ghaziabad and Chennai.  Areas that are hotspots will have ATM cleaning every day.  ATMs will be shut down if this rule of sanitizing is not followed.

 This rule of railways and airlines changed

 Due to the lockdown, trains are not running at present, but the railways have changed some rules.  These rules will be applicable on commencement of railway service.

  Under the new rules, passengers can change boarding stations up to 4 hours before the reservation chart is created.  Under the current rule, passengers could change boarding stations up to 24 hours in advance.  It is important to note that if a passenger changes boarding station and does not travel, he or she will not receive a refund for canceling the ticket.

 From May 1, Air India passengers will not have to pay any extra charge for canceling a ticket.
